Chip and Joanna Gaines Castle - The Cottonland Castle

Yes, you heard it right!! Our fav. couple, Chip and Joanna Gaines, are auctioning off their mansion believing that it will become a “loving and caring home once again,” according to a statement. The castle is on a 1.6-acre property in Waco, Texas. Cottonland Castle was first built in the 1890s. According to the Wall Street Journal, the castle itself inspired the name of its neighbourhood, which is now called Castle Heights.

In 2019, Chip and Joanna Gaines bought the dilapidated castle for such a huge price and later on spent three years restoring it in Magnolia style. You can watch Complete renovation on their show on “Fixer Upper: The Castle“.

Cottonland Castle is considered Gaines’ most ambitious project to date which took around 3 years for renovation, and it’s not hard to see why. Spread over 6,000 square feet, the palace is replete with antique features like card room and butler’s pantry etc. The couple has filled the property with Honduran mahogany panelling, Cane stone, and they’ve even built a conservatory for stylish indoor-outdoor living.
